1. Congratulations on your new EP! Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind it?

Well, just as the title says, these are stories from my hometown where it all began. A lot of experience was gained along the way, and some of those experiences ended up on this record.

2. What themes or messages are you hoping to convey through this EP?

It’s often said that you have to go out there and experience life. With that, you find people getting swept away by the new, exciting world and forgetting where they come from. I just hope this record inspires and encourages people to see the beauty in where they come from and celebrate that.

3. Can you walk us through your creative process for this project? How did you go from initial ideas to finished songs?

I really don’t have a step-by-step process that I follow when creating. Sometimes it’s so random and quick, and sometimes it’s a slow process stretching over years. For example, the record “Udlala Ngami” with Lyd Mapharah—I had the initial idea over three years ago. You can imagine. But that’s how it is; I respect the process enough not to rush it and just allow the song to bring itself out.

4. Which track on the EP is your favorite and why?

I love every record on the tape because they are real stories, but “Seabe” is close to my heart. I feel like it brings out a different vibe to the tape. Shout out to Wes_beats for the magic he planted in that beat. Everything just came naturally for the vibe; it’s almost like the record wrote itself.

5. Did you collaborate with any other artists or producers on this EP? If so, how did those collaborations come about?

Yeah, we got the most talented, most amazing artists on the record, like Mchangani, Slumkidd, Lyd Mapharah, and Killer C. I’m honored to have had the chance to work with such talent and share the experience. You know, I have a great team, so a lot of things are done really smoothly. Many of the collaborations were put together by my manager. Shout out to Ryder—he’s got a good ear for music and puts 100% into what he sets out to do.

6. What challenges did you face while creating this EP, and how did you overcome them?

There weren’t that many challenges because most of the production I did myself, so I had the most control of the project. We had a record on the tape, “Seabe Remix,” featuring another artist who pulled out at the last minute, so we had to remove it. I guess that can qualify as a challenge, but not really, haha.

7. How do you hope your fans will react to this new EP? What do you want them to take away from it?

What I always hope they find in every record I put out is light. By that, I mean hope. But with this one, it’s really about self-love and always touching base and being grounded, celebrating you and where you’re from.

8. Do you have any upcoming performances or tours planned to promote the EP?

Not at the moment—still building—but definitely in the near future. You’ll get to have a front-row seat at the X-Perience.

9. What’s next for you after this EP? Are there any new projects or goals you’re excited about pursuing?

It’s a lot. I’m always creating, so there’s a lot to expect. But at the moment, we’re going to be dropping visuals from this record and from other projects as well, and a lot of them. We might turn TFS (Tales from Seabe) into a motion picture, haha. I know a lot of people will be excited to watch that.
